TAKING ON A STUDENT
- You must directly employ the student and comply with minimum
wage regulations.
There is no fixed rate of pay for a Business Bridge project. This is to be negotiated
between you and the student. The method of payment should be agreed with the student
at the initial meeting.
- You must be aware of current working time regulations that relate
to part-time staff.
- Work can take place either during term time or vacation periods
depending on commitments of both the student and the employer. During term time
we would recommend that a full-time student work no more than 14 hours per week.
- We strongly advise that wherever possible, students should work
on site and be paid in arrears. If students work remotely, we recommend that you
meet with the student regularly to review progress.
- As Business Bridge is European funded, you will need to provide
mandatory information about your company so that the impact of the project can
be measured.
- Where necessary, confidentiality agreements can be drawn up by
the company and signed by the student
